DIY Aquarium "Lawnmower"

Great pump to run this filter

The aquarium “lawnmower filter” we make in this video may seem like a novelty project at first glance. We all experience the hassle of removing plant trimmings from our tank from time to time but this handy tool may end up saving you some time. Powered by the suction created by the rising air stream, the lawnmower will draw up light weight debris and capture it in the clipping bag attached to the end.

In this video we make a rough version of this filter, but since its creation we have found it much more convenient to attach a handle to the end of it using a ½ inch piece of PVC. This will enable the user to easily reach the bottom of long tanks and make the task much less complicated.
